Fitness is something that today’s generation is fond of. They go to the gym, workout there and do a lot of hard work there. But have you ever wonder that what should be the exact pre and post-workout meal. Don’t worry here we bring some meals that you should know to take before and after the workout.
Pre Workout
1.Protein
It’s a good idea to consume protein before the workout if you are doing weightlifting. Protein provides a lot of fiber and other essential things that our body need. The best source of protein that you can consume is nuts, soy milk, egg.
2. Carbohydrates
Carb means energy. Eating carbs ensure that you will have extra glucose if needed. If you are stapped for glucose during the workout, you may feel tired and weak all the time during exercise. The best source of carbohydrates is sweet potato, a piece of toast, milk, etc. It is one of the best nutrition that comes under pre and post-workout meal.
3.Drink water
It's really important that you drink a good amount of water that your body needs during the workout. Best way to check your overall hydration is to check the color of your urine. According to scientist lemon colored urine is a sign of appropriate hydration.
Post workout meal
1. Refuel with carbs and protein
Remember that your muscles are torn up, so you need to quickly eat something, to provide you with some strength. So your post work out meal should contain a huge amount of carbohydrate. Meals that contain carbohydrate and proteins are brown rice, nuts, bread and tofu, beans and fish.
2.Protein shake
You need a protein shake that can provide you a good amount of energy. You can buy it from the market or you can make it in your home and carry it to the gym. Just add water in your small bottle and add a little amount of bournvita or Horlicks. And your energy drink is ready in a minute.
3. Make sure you eat something soon
If you worked out really hard, your body needs something to get back in the original form. So ideally you should have a meal within half an hour of workout.
