It's been a long debate for years that what is the oldest language in the many scholars from different countries and culture claims different languages to be the oldest. OVer the time language evolved and changed. So today let's find out what are the oldest language in the world in the word.
5. Greek-
Although there is no evidence that when a language was written or started. Greek is one of the oldest language in the world. You must have heard that all prominent scholars, philosophers, and kings used to speak and write in greek. Greek's history is 1500 BC old. MAny words of English and Latin came from Greek. Today it is the official language of Greece and Cyprus.
4. Sumerian-
There is a misconception that Sumerian is the oldest language in the world. Well as I said it's a misconception. It was spoken by the people of Sumer. 3. Egyptian-
No doubt it's in world's oldest languages in the world. The evidence says that it's 3400 BC. The ancient writings are known as high hieroglyphs. It is said that this language actually derived from Afro- Asiatic languages.
2. Tamil-
This one is very debatable. Surprisingly it is one of the fewest oldest languages in the world that still exist. It is a part of Dravidian languages. It Is believed to almost 2500 BC. Tamil word also exists in many other languages. So there are a lot of people who claimes that Tamil is the mother of all languages. Today around 72 million people speak this language. It is one of the most spoken language of the world that is ancient.
1. Hebrew-
Hebrew dates about 10th century BCE. It is also an Afro-Asiatic language. Currently, there are more than 9 million Hebrew speakers in the world. It is spoken in western Asia and Northern Africa.
