Casting Couch Victims In Bollywood
Everyone thinks that life of stars is very happening and joyful but let me tell you they are the one who suffer the most in terms of cast couching and harassment. People troll them on social networking sites and on other platforms be it on the body or the attire they must be wearing.
Harassment in this industry does not only happen with females but also with our actors. According to actors in this industry be it new or the old ones said that Bollywood casting couch is common but not acceptable. Many newcomers have to face this situation and the torture for becoming a successful star. Bollywood casting couch is famous and is very popular in this industry.
Let me throw a light to this dark side of the Bollywood which we never heard of before. I want you to know about the Bollywood casting couch
Ranveer Singh
He said Bollywood casting couch is everywhere in the industry. He disclosed this when he was asked about casting couch by one reporter and the actor said that it is very common thing in this industry where people will try to exploit you and will try to molest you in such a way that you will not be able to get. He further said that he too had to go through this when he was in his struggling days.
He said he went to a man and while interview he addressed the man saying “a highly sleazy gentleman”. The director invited him to his house for Ranveer’s portfolio in Andheri. He said that the director did not even look at his portfolio even once and said him that you have to smart and sexy to grow in this field. He starting touching him in a wrong manner Ranveer opposed this. Ranveer said that he did not understand what was happening there but later on he did and he just left from there.
Ayushman Khurana
Ayushman too shared as how he got trapped in that situation while he was making entry in this industry. He told that while he was doing television shows and anchoring he was getting offers for casting couch from the directors.
“I was a TV anchor, so a casting director directly told me that I would have to do it. So, I told him that if I was not straight, I might have given it a thought, but I can’t do it. So yeah, the casting couch exists, but eventually, it’s your talent or potential as an actor or performer which would last. You don’t need to give in to such stuff,” The actor told this in an interview with DNA.
Radhika Apte
Radhika who is an amazing actor had to face this situation. She disclosed about this during an interview saying “I think once an actor in South called me on my room phone and tried to get flirtatious and I just was so rude to him. I think he fought with me later on and started requesting that you have to sleep with me. And then I said him to go to hell.”
She said she was afraid for sometime as nobody has ever asked me to do it. This was a shock for me.
Kalki Koechlin
The Margarita actress also experienced this as she was asked to sleep with one of the directors and to make some compromise. The actress refused the offer and went away and she said this is how she escaped from that situation.
Kangana Ranaut
The actress said that she was asked to get intimate right after every shoot in her struggling days by the directors but the actress kept on refusing their offer. She believed her luck and talent.
Ileana D’Cruz
The actress was recently asked about the casting couch while promoting her upcoming film Raid. She said that “It might sound cowardly, but I do agree that if you speak out about casting couch, it will end your career. Years ago, a junior artiste down south, who was being propositioned by a big producer, sought my advice on how to deal with it. I told her that it’s something that I couldn’t decide for her. It is her decision and that nobody could force it on her. Many people have done it and it’s up to her whether she wants to go ahead and do it or not.”
"I can't watch Kevin Spacey's show anymore, though I have loved it earlier because he has been accused of harassment. It disgusts me as a person," Ileana D'Cruz told while promotion.
